1.5 billion Yen Support of Rain Damaged Farms Planned

The governor of Fukuoka, Hiroshi Ogawa, stated that he would appropriate a ¥1.5 billion budget to restore rain-hit farms. The heavy rain’s impact is estimated to have caused a loss of over ¥6 billion in local agriculture as of July 16, and the total is expected to increase further. Costs for repairing greenhouses and farm machinery will be covered up to 50% ~ 80% (total: ¥1.25 billion,) and the purchase of ‘Hakata jidori’ baby chickens will be subsidized by 50% (¥5 million.)
