1.5% Economic Growth Predicted for Kyushu

The Kyushu Economic Research Center released its economic forecast for FY 2011 for Kyushu and Okinawa Prefecture, which calls for real growth of roughly 1.5%, absent the effect of price fluctuations. If the forecast turns out to be correct, it will be the second consecutive year of positive growth in the region. The 1.5% forecast is also identical to the national government’s forecast for Japan as a whole.
