10.3 Billion Yen in Emergency Storm Relief for Kyushu

The national government has announced it has launched a total of 15 disaster prevention projects involving 11 rivers, roads, and other areas in four Kyushu prefectures hard hit by the heavy July rains. Including local government contributions, the total amount to be spent is 10.3 billion yen.  One of the projects involves riparian works on the Chikugo River in Kurume, for which 393 million yen has been allocated.
