In response to the growing demand for environmental consideration in corporate activities, eleven businesses based in Kyushu, including supermarkets, have decided to collaborate on initiatives aimed at reducing product packaging. The collaborating parties, which include Aeon Kyushu, Hello Day, and Tokiwa, announced the establishment of a new council on the 29th at the Fukuoka Financial Group’s headquarters in Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City.
These eleven companies have committed to jointly carrying out environmentally conscious initiatives, starting with individual store-level efforts. This includes setting up sections in their stores that display products such as beverages with the middle part of their PET bottle packaging removed, and snacks in packaging made from plant-derived materials. A common logo representing ‘sustainability’ has also been designed and will be used to identify these efforts. Source: Aeon Kyushu / NHK
