2022 Fukuoka City Survey on Liveability

According to a recent survey, ninety-six percent of Fukuoka City residents rate the city high in terms of liveability. The 2022 survey by the city’s administration reveals how citizens find their lives in Fukuoka in terms of liveability, biodiversity concerning Hakata Bay, and lifelong learning. Thanks to nearby sources, an abundance of fresh food (91.3%,) convenience of shopping (89.9%), and other positive aspects, 97.4% answered that they liked living in the city. 92.7% of respondents hope to continue living in Fukuoka. As for the natural environment, 86.4% named the ocean as the resource to be preserved; indeed, one-fourth of respondents visited Hakata Bay at least once every few months. The percentage of those who regularly participated in biodiversity and nature conservation activities was as low as 13.1%. At the same time, more than half were interested in engaging in such activities. Ninety percent considered lifelong learning important, and 41.9 % engaged in some programs in the past three years.
