The Fukuoka branch of Teikoku Databank Ltd. reported that as many as 258 companies in Kyushu and Okinawa will mark their hundredth anniversaries during 2021. Eighty-three of them, including Tsurumaru Shipping Co., Ltd. (Kitakyushu) and Seiko Electric Co., Ltd., are based in Fukuoka Prefecture. Also, 37 companies are located in Oita Prefecture, as well as 34 in Kumamoto. Industry-wise, manufacturers account for the most significant part (61 companies,) followed by retailers (59) and wholesalers (55.) Source: Nikkei
