JR Kyushu announced that its sightseeing train 36 Plus 3 will resume service on September 3 following refurbishment work that began during a suspension in May. Car No. 6, previously used as a tatami-style Green Car, has been converted into 10 private compartments for one or two passengers. The upgrade follows strong demand for private rooms already available in Car No. 3. Each new compartment features a unique design and includes access to a premium lunch service with meals, refreshments, and drinks. Launched in 2020, the train operates on five rotating routes around Kyushu, offering local cuisine, regional products, and station events that showcase the region’s culture and attractions.
