5.2 Kilometer Elevated Stretch of Nishitetsu Omuta Line Opens Next Month

Construction to elevate the Nishitetsu Tenjin Omuta Line tracks has been completed, and the line will switch to elevated service between Zasshonokuma and Shimoori stations starting next month on the 28th. The line will be changed to elevated service from the first train departing on the 28th of next month. This will eliminate 19 level-crossings in the section, which is expected to ease traffic congestion and eliminate level-crossing accidents. The removal of the current tracks will be completed by the next fiscal year, and the new space under the elevated tracks will be used for bicycle parking and exchange facilities for local residents.
