Today, the Fukuoka District Meteorological Observatory issued a three-month forecast for northern Kyushu, including Yamaguchi Prefecture, for the next month through August. According to the forecast, the sea surface temperature in the south of Japan will be higher due to the La Niña phenomenon, in which the sea surface temperature off the coast of South America is lowered over the summer, and northern Kyushu will be easily covered by warm air from the south. As a result, temperatures are expected to be “normal to above normal” next month and in July and “near normal” in August. Precipitation is expected to be “normal to above normal” next month due to the rainy season and “near normal” in July and August. The weather observatory says, “The next three months will be hotter than normal.” Source: NHK
