Aeon announced on August 23 that it will be cutting prices on 114 private brand products, including food and everyday items. The plan is to combat uncertainties surrounding the economy and sluggish sales at existing stores by encouraging customers to spend. The cuts have gone into effect on August 25 at approximately 2,800 Aeon and Daiei stores throughout the country, which include a total of 119 branches in the Kyushu region. The products affected by the move will be around 10% cheaper on average. Source: Jiji Press, 8/23/2017
