Air Busan, the new Busan, South Korea-based airline, announced it will start flying round-trips between Fukuoka City and Busan because it considers Fukuoka City to be a promising market. The airline hopes to have four or five daily roundtrip flights between the two cities within five years. In an interview with the Nishinippon Shimbun, the head of the airline said that Fukuoka is the gateway to Kyushu, and there will be increased travel between the two regions for business and tourism as the supra-national economic sphere developing in the region grows.
