Himawari Night School in Kitakyushu held its first English class with a foreign assistant teacher on June 18. The public night school, opened last year, enrolls 14 students aged 17 to 80. While assistant language teachers are common in local day schools, this was a first for the night school. Students engaged in interactive activities and expressed excitement at the unique experience.
