Fukuoka Zoo recently welcomed a new female giraffe from America. She’s been brought in to become the mate bride of Keebo the eleven-year-old longtime bachelor giraffe. The new giraffe is two-years-old, three meters tall and weighs about 500 kgs. Fukuoka Zoo has tried to match Keebo with females from other zoos in Japan, but has has a hard time finding a female giraffe that was young enough to catch the interest of Keebo. Staff at Fukuoka Zoo have their fingers crossed this international match will result in a new baby giraffe.
