Annual Traffic Fatalities in Fukuoka Continue to Decline

According to the Fukuoka Prefectural Police Headquarters, the total number of people who died in traffic accidents in the prefecture last year was 91, a decrease of 7 from the previous year and the lowest since statistics began in 1946. This is the second year for the count to drop below 100. However, the number of pedestrian deaths reached 47, which is 13 more than last year. Furthermore, although the number of deaths among the elderly aged 65 and over has decreased by two, they still account for 58.2% of the total. Source: NHK
