The Fukuoka Prefecture law prohibiting businesses from providing benefits to criminal groups, which took effect in April, is starting to have an impact. The member companies of the Fukuoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry have decided to refuse orders from such groups for the midsummer chugen gift-giving season. The Nishinippon Shimbun also reports that some department stores, condominium associations, and taxicab associations are also developing their own efforts.
