The Fukuoka Labor Bureau is accepting applications from small and medium-sized companies in the prefecture for the “Workplace Awareness Improvement Subsidy” offered by the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare for companies to help employees strike a balance between their work and their daily lives. To receive a subsidy, the company must formulate a plan for improving this balance by including such elements as a program for acquiring paid vacations and creating an executive position with responsibility for labor improvement. If the bureau approves the plan, the company can receive a million-yen subsidy for two years.
