Famed ceramics and porcelain production center Arita-cho in Saga Prefecture announced plans to open an “antenna shop” in Meissen, Germany, the most renowned ceramics and production city in Europe, in 2010. The objective is to promote sales of their product throughout Europe in the face of slumping domestic demand. Arita-cho and Meissen are sister cities, and Meissen is already helping its counterpart to look for a suitable shop location.
