Asahi Beer to Begin Alcohol-free Beer Production in Hakata

Asahi Breweries, Ltd. announced the development of a new non-alcoholic beer production line in Hakata. According to an announcement on July 21, Asahi will invest ¥3.1 billion to renovate its Hakata Factory, aiming to supply its alcohol-free beverages to the areas of Kyushu and Chugoku with reduced transportation costs. The move will also save annual CO2 emissions by around 560 tons. The fourth production base for Asahi’s non-alcoholic beer will produce a million cases per year (one case = 633 ml bottles x 20.)
