The black tiger shrimp, a favorite of epicures, is found mostly in Southeast Asia, but a team of researchers at the University of Miyazaki’s Faculty of Agriculture have discovered the shrimp at the Kawaguchi area of the central Miyazaki coast. The same area is known as one of the few in the world that does not have a virus that attacks shrimp. As a result, the area would seem to be a prime breeding ground for the shrimp for export.
