The Coca-Cola billboard that sits on top of Canal City Hakata has been renovated for the first time since its initial construction 19 years ago. The sign faces towards the Naka River and is seen as a mainstay of the Hakata night view. The board’s lights were turned off on January 8 to allow for construction to begin. A ceremony was held on June 9 to light up the advertising board and celebrate its completion. The sign is roughly the same size as before (39 m x 10 m). Information about the weather, local area, and Coca-Cola products will appear on the billboard digitally. Source: Fan Fun Fukuoka, 6/8/2018
