Canon has announced plans to build a digital camera plant in Hasami-cho, Nagasaki Prefecture. The company anticipates that the plant, which will be its third digital camera plant nationwide, will begin operation by the end of 2009. It will invest roughly 15 billion yen in the construction. The plant is expected to employ about 100 people.
