Kyushu Electric Power, Kyudenko, and Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical have created a special unit to encourage participation in a new advanced cancer treatment facility being established in Tosu, Saga Prefecture. The treatment involves the use of carbon beams to deliver drugs to targeted areas in the body. The three companies will finance the unit to purchase land for the facility, contribute to construction costs, and rent space in the facility to medical corporations. The center is expected to open in the spring of 2013.
