Dazaifu City announced an event to commemorate the 100th year of the Dazaifu ruins and the Mizuki-Castle ruins as national designated historical sites. A local-historical celebration of ‘Baika no en,’ or banquet of plum flowers, will take place on Feb. 13 with the guests dressed in traditional costumes. To conduct the ceremony without spreading the new coronavirus, people are requested to keep their distance from the event. A special talk session by a Japanese literature specialist, Susumu Nakanishi, will also be held on Feb. 14 (*Japanese language only: applications accepted online.) Source: Dazaifu City
