Charichari Inc., which operates the popular Charichari bike-sharing service, has expanded its coverage to Nakagawa City in Fukuoka Prefecture as of June 16, according to the company’s announcement. This marks the latest phase of the service’s regional growth across the Fukuoka metropolitan area. The expansion was carried out under a partnership agreement signed with Nakagawa City in March 2025, aiming to improve local mobility and stimulate tourism through enhanced transportation options.
Fifteen new bike ports have been installed in key northern locations of the city, including JR Hakata-Minami Station, Nishitetsu Bus Nakagawa Depot, and community centers. Charichari has seen over 34 million cumulative rides since launching in Fukuoka City in 2018. The company recently extended operations to other suburban areas, including Shime and Kasuya towns in April 2025. It aims to support last-mile transit connectivity and strengthen links with public transportation throughout the wider Fukuoka region. Source: Nakagawa City
