In Kyushu, an increasing number of hotels and inns are being used as offices. Sasebo (Nagasaki Pref.)-based Japanet Holdings has leased a hotel in Fukuoka City to serve as a call center. With one operator assigned to each room, it aims to avoid the so-called “three Cs” to which conventional call centers are conducive. Meanwhile, Tokyo-based promotion firm Innovation Partners began using a hot spring resort in Saga prefecture as a satellite office. Demand for lodging has fallen drastically due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but companies are now eying these facilities to help adapt to the “new lifestyle” touted by the government.
