In an apparent copycat incident, three cats of different breeds and colors were spotted atop a dividing fence on the Nishi Kyushu Expressway near the Maebaru Interchange at 4:20 pm, March. 31. The sighting comes just eight days after a cat was found sitting on the Fukuoka Urban Expressway fence leading to closure of one lane for three hours as police scrambled to capture the cat. This time the three trespassers fled the scene when approached by highway maintenance staff. One of the three, the American shorthair, was apprehended less than an hour later when it was found licking ice cream off a trash can at a nearby convenience store. A search for the other two cats continues and the public is warned to keep a safe distance as they may have sharp claws. Source: FN News
