A location agreement was signed on March 17 in preparation for the opening of the new store. The 68,800 square meters site is located on the northeast side of the Chikugo Ogori Interchange on the Oita Expressway. Costco is said to be considering a 10,000-square-meter sales floor. The earliest opening date is sometime in 2024. Costco currently operates stores in Hisayama Town (Fukuoka) and Yahatanishi-ku, Kitakyushu City in Fukuoka Prefecture.
