The Boards of Education and citizen groups in Ogori, Fukuoka Prefecture, and Tosu and Kiyama-cho in Saga Prefecture will establish a body for the research of local history and culture in November. The body, to be called the Crossroad Culture Research Association, will examine the long-standing ties between the neighboring municipalities, which led to their growth as a crossroads for land transport. The three municipalities grew in a flat area with the Chikugo River to the south and Mt. Sefuri to the west, which enhanced the development of a common culture.
