Crowdfunding to Preserve Piano Played by Masters

Fukuoka City seeks funds to preserve the “Legacy Piano,” which was autographed by international master pianists. The 1963-made Steinway grand piano was used on stage at the city’s Civic Hall and Fukuoka Sunpalace with then-leading artists such as Arthur Rubinstein and Wilhelm Kempff. Thirty-eight autographs include them and other conductors, singers, and musicians, too. The project aims to repair the instrument (¥18 million cost) and preserve it as one of the city’s cultural treasures. Crowdfunding project: https://greenfunding.jp/linkstart/projects/6295
