JR Hakata City, the new shopping complex and building at JR Hakata Station, was previewed to card-holding members and others on the 2nd, one day before its scheduled opening. An estimated 185,000 people thronged to the site before closing at 7:00 p.m. The official opening was held on the 3rd at 9:30 a.m.
