Daihatsu Kyushu announced it would hire 340 seconded employees working in manufacturing operations as full-time employees. Their period of secondment has reached the legal maximum of three years, and the company is required to hire those employees it wishes to keep as permanent employees. In contrast, Nissan Kyushu does not plan to hire any of its seconded employees, and will eliminate the irregular employees at all of its Kyushu plants.
