The name of the building complex, “Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City”, that will house the luxury hotel “The Ritz-Carlton” was announced yesterday. The site that was once the grounds of Daimyo Elementary School will be turned into a lush green plaza. The upper floors will house “The Ritz-Carlton,” a luxury foreign-affiliated hotel, the first of its kind in Kyushu. The hotel will feature 162 guest rooms, six restaurants, a bar lounge, a spa, and a swimming pool. The 3rd floor and the 5th to 16th floors are 250 square meter office floors. The building is equipped with infection control measures and advanced security features. A space for young creators to present their work, including a large 1.6-meter-high guardian dog created by Hakata doll maker Hiromine Nakamura will be installed. Children will be able to climb and slide on it. Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City is expected to become a new hub of interaction in the heart of the city. Construction is scheduled to be completed this December, with the hotel scheduled to open next spring. Source: RKB
