A 35-year-old woman in Dazaifu City has been rearrested on suspicion of killing her newborn daughter by covering her nose and mouth shortly after giving birth at her apartment on March 31. The suspect, Maki Nishi, had previously been arrested last month for allegedly abandoning the infant’s body in a plastic bag. Police investigations revealed the baby showed signs of having breathed for several minutes after birth. Nishi has declined to comment during questioning. Source: NHK
