The Yaoki brand potato shochu planned and sold by the Renaissance Project, a venture capital-backed liquor wholesaler based in Fukuoka City, continues to win awards in design contests both in Japan and overseas. The company thinks one reason for the awards is that the bottle was designed for use as a container once the beverage is consumed. The product has won eight awards, including the Good Design award in Japan and the grand prize of the Art Directors’ Club in New York.
