Oriental Land, the company that operates Tokyo Disneyland and other amusement parks, announced the withdrawal of plans to open an indoor amusement facility. The site most likely to have been chosen was Canal City #2 in Fukuoka City. The company projected the amount required to start the facility would far exceed the original 20-30 billion yen, and they thought it would be difficult to turn a profit in the midst of a global economic downturn.
