A drive-through event featuring festival foods will take place on June 13 & 14 at marine Messe in Fukuoka City. Organized by local stallholders, the ‘Drive Through Omatsuri Yatai’ event plans to create the cheerful atmosphere of matsuri festivals with food including yakisoba noodles, candy-coated apples (ringo-ame), cotton candies, and hashi-maki rolled pancakes with vegetable fillings. Customers can place their orders at designated points and drive-by twenty stalls. Local food stalls operators are suffering hardships due to ongoing event cancellations linked to the new coronavirus spread. Part of the event’s profits will be donated to medical workers.
