Excavations End at Yoshinogari

The Saga Prefecture Education Committee concluded at the end of September its excavation surveys at Yoshinogari, the largest archaeological site dating from the Yayoi period in Japan. The surveys had been conducted for 26 years and led to growing popular interest in ancient history nationwide. Work will continue at the site to enhance the national park there, and arrange and analyze the many items excavated. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun
