Explosion on Ship in Kanda Town: Seven Injured, No Fatalities

An explosion occurred on a ship docked at a cement factory in Kanda Town, Fukuoka, sending seven men to the hospital with burn injuries. The incident took place around 9:40 AM on July 11 at the Mitsubishi UBE Cement Kyushu plant. The explosion happened on the 60-meter vessel “Dai-10 Eiyumaru” while the crew was opening a hatch, leading to a blast and a heatwave but no fire.
