A ceremony was held to commemorate the completion of a hard x-ray beamline and a clean experiment station at the Kyushu Synchrotron Light Resource Center in Tosu, Saga Prefecture. Synchrotron light is created by changing the direction of electrons moving at nearly the speed of light in a vacuum. It is about 10,000 times brighter than x-ray light. The light is effective for analyzing substances. This is the first research facility of its kind in Kyushu.
