Father’s Day Popular in Kyushu

Nippon Life Insurance Company conducted an online survey on how families spend Father’s Day in Japan. The results were released on June 10, and five prefectures in Kyushu and Okinawa areas were listed in the top ten prefectures in which the largest percentage of people who celebrate the day with gifts. In Saga Prefecture, as many as 86.4% of the respondents said they would give presents to their fathers and husbands. The company analyses suggest that the tradition of conveying appreciation in everyday life might be particularly strong Kyushu. Source: Nikkei Shimbun, 6/10/2019
