Fighting Crime: Fukuoka’s New High-Priority Task Force

In response to an uptick in crime in Fukuoka City, the Fukuoka Prefectural Police Headquarters has established a new 33-member “Special Task Force.” The team will focus on strengthening law enforcement and enhancing safety measures in the city. During the launch ceremony, Chief of Police Masakatsu Okabe highlighted the importance of implementing security measures, given the city’s rapid urban development and population increase. With 40% of last year’s 28,773 criminal offenses (in Fukuoka Prefecture) occurring in Fukuoka City, the “Special Task Force” is set to intensify enforcement through undercover patrol cars and other strategic measures.
