Financial Damages Calculated After Summer Rain Storms

¥63.5 billion is the estimated financial damage incurred within Fukuoka Prefecture after this summer’s heavy rains and the second highest amongst all other prefectures. The most significant damage was related to torrential rainfall in July. Facing the growing scale and frequency of natural disasters, Fukuoka Prefecture is preparing to build new flood control facilities in the surrounding area of the Chikugo River. Source: NHK
