According to officials in Fukuoka Prefecture, a person living in the prefecture was confirmed today as infected with the Omicron strain, a new variant of the new coronavirus. This is the first confirmed case of a patient with the Omicron strain. Since the infected person had not traveled overseas, it’s believed to be a community-acquired infection.
