First Dinosaur Fossil Discovered in Nagasaki

A team from the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum announced the discovery of the fossilized joint of the left femur of a hadrosaurus, an herbaceous dinosaur that lived in late Cretaceous Period around 80 million years ago, in Nagasaki City. It is the first time a dinosaur fossil has been found in Nagasaki. Many of these fossils have been found in Northeast China, and the museum says the discovery is an opportunity to shed light on the connections between the two regions, which were connected at the time by a land bridge.
