First Increase in Kyushu Mining and Manufacturing Index in Four Months
The seasonally Kyushu Mining and Manufacturing Index (2005=100) for July rose 3.4% from the previous month to 106.4. It was the first increase in the index in four months. The rise was driven by favorable conditions in the automotive industry, but global economic conditions are causing uncertainly about the future of the regional economy.
