First Increase in Tax Revenue from Kyushu in Five Years
The Fukuoka and Kumamoto branches of the National Tax Agency have issued a report on tax revenue from Kyushu for 2011. Total tax revenue was 2.5181 trillion yen, a 0.5% rise from the previous year. This was the first increase in tax revenue from the region in five years. The Fukuoka branch attributed this to the start of an economic recovery that has halted the decline in tax revenue.
