First International Cruise Ship Arrival in Japan in 3 Years at Hakata Port

A cruise ship from the UK is set to dock at Hakata Port in Fukuoka City on March 30th, marking the first time in over three years that an international cruise ship has been received in Japan. Fukuoka City is working with relevant agencies to prepare for the ship’s arrival. According to documents compiled by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism regarding international cruise ships scheduled to dock at domestic ports, the Bahamas-registered cruise ship “Borealis” will be docking at Hakata Port. The ship departed from the UK on February 22nd and is scheduled to arrive at Hakata Port in the early morning of March 30th, after stopping at Egypt and Vietnam. With a capacity of over 1,300 passengers, the ship will enjoy tourism activities in Fukuoka City before departing from Hakata Port in the evening. If the “Borealis” docks at Hakata Port as scheduled, it will be the first international cruise ship to do so in over three years. Source: NHK
