First JR Kyushu Revenue Rise in Three Years


JR Kyushu released its consolidated revenue and earnings report for FY 2010, which shows that revenue rose 1.5% from the previous year to 297.15 billion yen. It is the company’s first revenue increase in three years. The benefits from the opening of the new station building in Fukuoka City and the start of full Kyushu Shinkansen service were received only in the month of March. Meanwhile, current profit fell for the third straight year to 8.65 billion yen, a 2.2% decline, while net profit fell for the first time in three years to 2.15 billion yen, a 5.9% drop.
