At approximately 1am on Oct. 20 at JR Hakata Station five male passersby were stabbed by a man. All five were taken to a hospital. They are all conscious and there’s no danger of loss of life. The police arrested a 26 year-old male suspect. The male passersby were in their 20s to the 40s. In addition to these five another male was slashed but was without injury, just damage to his clothes. According to the police, the suspect used a 17cm kitchen knife. The suspect is from Morooka, Hakata-ku Fukuoka. He said “I went to Hakata Station. I just wanted to slash people.” According to the police, after they received the report they found him wandering around with kitchen knife in his hand. They told him to put it down, but he began to attack the officers. The police disarmed him. He is now in custody and being questioned.
