Thirteen eating and drinking establishments opened stalls in a district of Kokura, Kitakyushu, in a move to restore a former stall district that existed in the early to mid-20th century. In addition to the usual stall fare, the new shops offer octopus, beef, and spare rib dishes featuring local products. They hope to attract 400,000 customers a year.
